Hey there, listeners.

Welcome to horror movie club.

This show are two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite nobs. Choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Ashvin. And today we are discussing Oculus from 2013, directed by Mike Flanagan, written by Jeff Howard and Mike Flanagan, starring Karen Gillen, Annalise Basso, Breton

Thwaites, Garrett Ryan Ewald, Katie Sackoff, and Rory Cochran.

In this film, a brother and sister tracked down an antique mirror that they believed to be

responsible for the misfortune that has befallen their family.

If you're new to the show for the first 15 or 20 minutes,

we're going to just discuss some background info on this movie without doing any spoilerific

type stuff. But after that, we're going to play some transition music and begin a detailed

plot walkthrough where we will spoil the whole movie. So if you haven't seen it yet, dip out once you hear

that transition music. And after the walkthrough, we'll kind of review it as we go through the walkthrough,

and then after the walkthrough, we'll rate it zero to five and review it some more.

Ashvin, I think we had both watched this together back in the days when we were calling

each other up on the phone and discussing horror movies but hadn't started recording

it for a podcast yet.

So it's one of those movies we wouldn't have touched at the beginning because it felt

too recent and now it's like, oh oh man that was like 10 years ago probably

that we watched it last I know it's really a measure of like yeah how long we've been doing

this for and in this podcast I mean I feel like Mike Flanagan we were like all over him the first

few years of our podcast and now like it's been I don't know the last two three years we haven't

done any of his work right?
