Hey everybody, welcome back to Cold Case Murder Mysteries.

I'm your host Ryan Kraus, returning for the third installment in my analysis of the

Extremely Creepy, yet sad tale about the butcher of Plainfield, Ed Geen, who committed

no fewer than two murders and dozens of grave robberies, including the act of digging

up his own mother in an effort to overcome the most painful endeavor human beings undergo

emotionally, which is lost in the form of physical death.

Eddie Geen couldn't live without mother, so when she left his heart and home empty in

the aftermath of her death, the disturbed man thought of nothing other than healing

that pain by bringing her back.

In this episode, we'll examine Eddie's plight to cross the threshold from child to

adult and how his mother's refusal to allow him to grow into a man, with any sense of

normalcy, caused her to take increasingly extreme measures as he aged from a child to

a young adult, finally making him a broken, middle-aged bachelor living in crippling poverty

and isolation.

It was the fate Augusta wanted for her own father, as it reversed his fortunes.

Augusta's abusive father was surrounded by a large, prosperous family in her youth,

one that silenced the abuse instead of the abuser, and made the abused live within a

nightmarish home of dark secrets haunting them.

Augusta simply manifested the emotional version of the house she lived in with her father

as a child by raising Eddie to become a man who would come to understand her and suffer

her ailments to finally implore empathy.
