Hello and welcome to a very special contemplations and today I'm going to be showing you how to make six iconic cocktails

from my years of experience working as a bartender, cocktail bartender in particular

whilst I was at university and I did this mainly to pay my way

through it wasn't exactly a passion but I did get very good at it and I've got a few

tricks to show you even if you're relatively seasoned because I've worked in all sorts of different environments,

be it nightclubs or fancy silver service, restaurants, I've done it all. And hopefully this is a good bit of fun in preparation for New Year's Eve which

this should be going out shortly before I believe and yes I'm gonna I suppose start with the equipment that I've got.

So first and foremost is the Boston Tin.

So these are obviously very, very important.

And as many of you may already know, this is where you're going to be shaking your cocktails.

There are a couple of different kinds of Boston Tin. There's one that comes it with a built-in strainer, which I'm not so much a fan of. They're just a bit cumbersome and I'll be

getting on to a strainer later on which is a bit more versatile and you also get ones where

the smaller one is made of glass and I don't really like these as much because

for one if you're working in a busy bar environment which I suppose you're not going to be

likely her you're not going to be likely,

you're probably not going to be most likely even.

Then you're going to be chilling down this

and then heating up very quickly by washing it out in a sink and so by by making it very cold and very hot repeatedly and it's the thing made of glass you can imagine that sometimes they break I've had one break on me before because they're quite thick glass they can cut your hands so I like

them being like this and also that of equal weight so it's easier to move them around I mean closer to equal weight but obviously not equal

their different sizes but get off my back all right so they're also well balanced which

is part of the charm so if I were to put them together and you

know pretend to shake them without anything in it doesn't feel out of balance in my
