As we come on, word that the Justice Department has fired 12 prosecutors who work for Jack Smith,

the special counsel who indicted Donald Trump for election interference and mishandling classified documents.

A spokesman for the Justice Department, the new Trump Justice Department,

has just released a statement saying, quote, acting attorney general James McEnry made this decision

because he did not believe these officials could be trusted to faithfully implement the

president's agenda because of their significant role in prosecuting the president.

Donald Trump is cleaning house and he's making it much filthier.

All this after Trump fired at least 17 inspectors general.

I'll have more on this later in the program. The Justice Department also

announcing they're investigating how 250 January 6ers were prosecuted using an obstruction law that

the Supreme Court ruled last year was inappropriate for January 6 defendants.

Ed Martin, named by Donald Trump to run the federal prosecutor's office, just said, quote,

we need to get to the bottom of this.

Then he told all of the prosecutors working under him that they need to turn over all files, documents,

notes, emails, and other information about special counsel Jack Smith.

The Trump Justice Department is now going after the prosecutors.

And that is Ed Martin, the person who will be prosecuting the prosecutors.

Less than one week after receiving a pardon from Donald Trump,

Matthew Huddle, who served six months in a federal prison,

followed by 12 months on supervised release for storming the Capitol on January 6th.

Well, Matthew Huddle was shot and killed Monday by police during a routine traffic stop in Jasper County, Indiana.
