I'm Mark Stephen.

As you know, we build the Scotland Outdoors Saturday podcast

from the live program we do for BBC Radio Scotland.

And it was a really mixed bag today.

There was the mystery bird.

Obviously, that's a given.

But I was also a really interesting ranger rendezvous

and got a whole range of voices from that

just about a role that's really particularly important

at the moment in the Scottish countryside.

There's a woodcock moon up there,

up behind a high veil of sort of cloud.

But yesterday morning I came out, chucked the horses there,

looked up and thought, wow,

because the top of the moon was missing.
