Tuesday, April 15th. We wrapped up day six of the Lori Daybell trial early today. Detective Duncan

was not feeling well. He was going to be the last witness this afternoon. He had to go home.

So hopefully he feels better and

can get in that witness chair. We had heard the state could rest their case as early as tomorrow,

but I'm not sure with Detective Duncan being sick, will that affect the state being able to

rest their case this week. One of the first things that the judge dealt with today

was the state's motion to preclude Lori's witnesses. She has 11 civilian witnesses and her

expert witness, Lonnie Dworkin. Essentially, none of these people have been served with subpoenas

and the state is almost ready to arrest their case, which means the

defense case is almost ready to start. And you don't have any of these people secured.

To get on that witness stand for Lori, it's a nightmare because you have some people that live

out of state. They would have to travel on a very short notice. I think a lot of these witnesses,

if not all, are going to be precluded.

And the only witness we may get with any length of testimony would be Lori herself if she chooses.

The judge told Lori, even if these witnesses are served with a subpoena, he would need to know

what relevant information they have regarding Charles's

murder. He says she is out of time to present her witnesses and points out, most haven't been served,

and the state hasn't even had a chance to question them. And unless they're produced in the next day or two,

they will likely be precluded. Not only that, even if they are

produced, that still may not be good enough because it is too late. The judge did ask about Lori's

nephew, Zach Cox, that is Adam Cox's son, and what relevant information he has.
