Frost covered streets and holiday decorations still adorned the homes of Richmond, Virginia,

when terror struck in the opening days of 2006.

Seven victims lay dead across the city within a single week,

victims of a murderous rampage that would haunt Virginia's capital for years to come.

This is Monsters. Ricky Gray was born on March 9, 1977, and he spent his time hanging out with his nephew,

who was actually about a month older than him.

Ray Dandridge was born on January 24, 1977, and the two were living together in Pennsylvania in 2005.

Some publications listed the two as cousins, but that's inaccurate.

Ricky had married a woman named Treva Gray in May

of 2005, but their marriage was far from happy. Ray had spent 10 years in prison for armed

robbery, and when he was released on October 26, 2005, he moved in with the couple who

lived in a house owned by Trevis' parents.

Her family said the couple would fight constantly, and there were signs of physical abuse.

It didn't take long for the conflict to reach a deadly conclusion.

Treva's body was found along a residential street on November 5th in a Pittsburgh suburb.

When 42-year-old Mike Grimm saw two children crouching over a body as he left his house that morning, he realized

that someone had dumped her onto the road, right out in the open. Her body was badly beaten,

and authorities questioned both Ricky and Ray, but the men weren't

immediately viewed as suspects.

Treva's mother would go on to say that the police just shrugged her death off as an overdose

and didn't really investigate.

If they had, they might have saved a number of other lives.
