All right, so if you missed last night again, I just want to encourage you that I started talking about the book of Hebrews

and I basically summarized the first 12 chapters of Hebrews and

Jamie even thought it was good so it was really good. You need to get that and I haven't got time to go back and summarize all of

this stuff again but what I want to do is just turn over here and start emphasizing.

You know I gave a broad picture of what the book of Hebrew is about for.

How many of you were not here last night?

Could I see him?

Wow, a bunch of you.

Man, you need to get that teaching. I'm not going to go back and say all this but the book of Hebrews is specifically written to transition people from the Old Testament law way of relating to God to the New Testament.

And I would say that very few Christians have made that transition.

The vast majority of Christians still have an Old Testament mindset where they are sin conscious and they feel, they don't doubt that God can do things, but they doubt that God would do it because they don't feel worthy.

They have this performance-based mentality.

And this is what the book of Hebrews was written about, was to change you from the old way of doing things to the new way of doing things.

And yet most Christians have somehow or another tried to marry the Old Testament and the New Testament together and they're incompatible.

They don't contradict each other.

The Old Testament led to the New Testament and it prepared the way and it's necessary and I probably spend more time studying in the Old Testament than I do the new many times.

So I'm not against it at all, but that you can't mix them together.

This is what Jesus was talking about when he says you can't mix them together. This is what Jesus was talking about when he says you can't put a new patch on an old garment because it'll tear and take away. You can't put new wine in an old wine skin. And yet the average Christian today has mixed these things

together and they are incompatible. The Old Testament prophesied and led to the New Testament, but you can't live under both of them at the same time.
