I am in the hot seat.

I'm normally used to having my headphones on listening to you and your guests

taking notes but today I actually get to get to speak a little bit so I'm excited to

talk and hopefully have a great conversation like we often tend to do once

we're done recording a show will go into our hour and a half long conversations so

this is true this is true you know I wanted to just kind of start off talking about the, obviously, the Democratic National

Convention concluded last night with Joe Biden's speech and I just kind of want to get your thoughts on it because you know for me it's weird you know I was I was a Democrat for 18 years and two months ago I unregistered from the party and I did that because of how they

responded to this pandemic how they've continued to put their corporate donors

over the basic needs of the American people just like the Republican Party does, you know, and it got to a point where, you know, 88% of Democratic voters support Medicare for, and yet the party won't do that because the party is beholden to its corporate donors, one of which is the giant insurance companies.

So when I watch the convention in the past days it's it's just it was interesting to me because you know this is two months after I left the party and

What I saw from the convention like there was nothing democratic about it like there were you

know six Republicans two oligarchs you know I think I counted two real progressives at

the convention and here we are in this moment of just deep suffering, you

know, deep racial injustice, deep you know economic inequality and we have a

convention that's mostly focused on platitudes and entertainment and you know it just felt so
