In our previous episode, we recounted several alleged eyewitness accounts from survivors

of strange occurrences, which might otherwise have ensured their disappearance and or demise.

And whilst those accounts were certainly bizarre, each one was very different, with no

single phenomenon to pinpoint exactly what is going on in North America's national

parks.

This week, we recount three more strange tales of the near-missing for 1-1.

On the evening of the 2nd of September 2011, switchboard operators at the Sisku County

Sheriff's Office received a panicked phone call from the parents of a missing child.

The fact that the Boeing question was just three years old was worrying enough, but

of much greater concern was the location he had apparently disappeared from.

The parents' campsite was located in the foothills of Mount Shasta, a towering and inhospitable

region which had claimed countless lives over the years.

As a result, the area was soon flooded with personnel from every branch of the emergency

services, as well as a sizeable group of civilian volunteers.

But upon their arrival, as the boy's father related the circumstances surrounding his

son's disappearance, certain members of the search and rescue teams had shot nervous

clanses at one another.

Apparently, the child had walked off into the surrounding countryside accompanied by

the family dog, and it was only upon the canines' return that the alarm had been raised.

It had staggered back into the campsite, soaked to the bone and shivering from the cold,

before collapsing onto the ground, exhausted and quite alone.
