what is the significance of Mary's song? And we're going to be looking at that in Luke 1, 46 to 56.

So before we really dive into today's passage, I think the context is really

important as the song is a response to what just happened. So the Immaculate Conception was just

announced in verse 1 in verses 26 to 38, where the Lord announced to Mary through an angel that she will conceive a son, the

Messiah, the savior of her people, and the world through the Holy Spirit. Now, Mary, who's engaged

to be married, is a young teenager at this point, and she had to have many, many different

emotions running through her mind and heart.

She had to be overwhelmed, unsure of the future, and afraid of how her soon-to-be husband was going to take this news.

But we see that the overall tone of Mary is one of poised faith in the face of these emotions.

She entrusts herself to Yahweh and the Old Testament scriptures that speak of God's send-in, an ultimate king for ultimate freedom and ultimate fulfillment of his promises to his people.
