Thanks for joining. I'm Lauren Atkinson on the Join the Journey staff team and today I am in the

podcast studio with another Watermark staff member. It's Dylan Jackson.

Dylan, thanks for joining us. And since it's your first time on the podcast, why don't we start

with you just giving us a little bit more about your story where you're from, how you ended up at

Watermark, and what you do on staff here. Yeah, that's great. Well, I'm from DFW. Growing up,

I found my identity and performance and the validation of others,

and therein lies the root of my lifelong struggles with perfectionism and the fear of man.

Those idols have led to all kinds of sin in my life, but through getting plugged into this church body at Watermark,

God has broken so many of the chains that once bound me, and best of all, he's revealed

to me and his kindness who he really is. He knows I can't be perfect, which is why he gave his

perfect son, Jesus, to be my savior and king. And now I believe Ephesians 2 8 through 9 to be true

when it says, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing. It is the

gift of God,

not a result of works, so that no man may boast. Fear of man and especially perfectionism are still

daily wrestles. I have obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD, which any psychologist would tell you that

perfectionism is the number one issue with, but God is so good to meet me in my weakness and

reveal his power through my OCD. He is gracious and kind. And the biggest means of God's grace

in my life is my high school sweetheart and wife of six years, Lindsay. And we have two daughters,

Jolene and Lucy, and Rosie is due to be born in May. So just a very, very blessed man, surrounded by a lot

of good women in my life. Yeah, so, and I'm on staff here at Watermark. Got here as a member six years
