0:29.7	Judges 16 through 18 is all about Samson. So when I was reading this, if you were reading the passage, maybe you're like me and you remember
0:38.4	back to when you're in Sunday school learning about Samson. And sometimes when you read the Bible,
0:44.2	it's easy to look at the people in scripture as examples to emulate if maybe you grew up in church
0:50.2	and you remember hearing these stories. But it's really important when we read the Bible and
0:55.3	especially the book of judges that we realized that these people were not exactly heroes to emulate
1:01.1	or copy their every move by any means. And actually the book of judges is one of the darkest books in
1:07.0	the Bible, especially because the last verse of judges tells us why. There was no king in
1:13.5	Israel, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes. That was never the design. Israel was
1:20.7	supposed to follow God as their leader and trust that his way was best. And Moses had specifically
1:26.7	said that everyone was not to do
