And guys, we're going to be talking about a pretty heavy and hard topic.

And if I'm honest, when I read these verses in the book of judges, it really grieves me that this is a part of our history, that this is something that's found in the Bible. And at the exact same time, I also find it comforting that there's nothing new under the sun, that God, for all of his reign, has known that there is destruction, that there is evil, that

there is abuse, that there is murder, that there is things that grieve the heart of God, and yet

he is still good in the midst of it. And even as you see in judges time and time again that people

did what was right in their own eyes,

we see that we have a perfect God who loves us, who meets us in the pain and the destruction,

and we get to trust him.

But at the same time, we have to address what is in the Bible.

And so we're going to dive in and we're going to spend some time talking about a really,

really hard subject, things that

like abuse and rape and murder. And it's hard. And yet I want you to hear that God sees this.

He does not condone it. He brings justice. And he will ultimately bring justice in the end that we

see in Revelation that he will one day wipe away

every tear from their eye and there shall be no more death, no more pain, no more crying. And so we can

long for that day. And as we long for that day, we have to address the things that we see in scripture.
