| 0:29.4 | And guys, we're going to be talking about a pretty heavy and hard topic. |
| 0:33.6 | And if I'm honest, when I read these verses in the book of judges, it really grieves me that this is a part of our history, that this is something that's found in the Bible. And at the exact same time, I also find it comforting that there's nothing new under the sun, that God, for all of his reign, has known that there is destruction, that there is evil, that |
| 0:56.6 | there is abuse, that there is murder, that there is things that grieve the heart of God, and yet |
| 1:02.7 | he is still good in the midst of it. And even as you see in judges time and time again that people |
| 1:09.5 | did what was right in their own eyes, |
| 1:11.4 | we see that we have a perfect God who loves us, who meets us in the pain and the destruction, |
| 1:16.9 | and we get to trust him. |
| 1:18.4 | But at the same time, we have to address what is in the Bible. |
| 1:22.1 | And so we're going to dive in and we're going to spend some time talking about a really, |
| 1:26.1 | really hard subject, things that |
| 1:28.5 | like abuse and rape and murder. And it's hard. And yet I want you to hear that God sees this. |
| 1:36.4 | He does not condone it. He brings justice. And he will ultimately bring justice in the end that we |
| 1:42.4 | see in Revelation that he will one day wipe away |
| 1:45.2 | every tear from their eye and there shall be no more death, no more pain, no more crying. And so we can |
| 1:50.4 | long for that day. And as we long for that day, we have to address the things that we see in scripture. |
