Well, hey, you've been on the podcast before, so I'm just going to cue you up. You have been given a prompt to work off of today.

And so here's the question that we're answering today.

Why was it an evil thing for the Israelites to ask God for a king?

And how should we think about Samuel's warning to the people?

Two great questions.

I would love to handle these two questions separately.

First, we'll look at more the explanation of the text and how we're going to get to the

application, and then the second we're going to sit and more of what this means for us today.

But for the first one, why was it an evil thing for the Israelites to ask God for a king?

Our main passage that we're going to be pivoted off of today

is 1 Samuel 12, 17, 18. I would love to read that. Is it it not wheat harvest today? I will call upon

the Lord that he may send thunder and rain, and you shall know and see that your wickedness is great,

which you have done in the sight of the Lord and asking for yourselves
