Paltry, Savannah, this is obscure season 4 in American Tragedy. I'm your host, your friend, your ear lover, and literary mansplainer in chief Michael Ian Black reporting from Hurricane Debbie or or I guess it's now called Tropical Storm Debbie, which is

lashing the southeast with rains and wind gusts, and it's really coming down there saying we're going to get as much as 30 inches of rain and I was talking with Martha and she said that's like 30 feet of snow and I said well that

can't be that just can't be there's no such thing as 30 feet of snow falling anywhere ever. I mean I'm prone to grand statements of

fact when I have no idea. So we looked it up and in fact she was correct one inch of rain does

approximate to about a foot of snow. So if we were to get 30 inches of rain that

would in fact translate to 30 feet of snow.

My home would be subsumed by the snow if there was in fact 30 feet of snow and as it happens we are getting

thoroughly drenched here with the rain and I'm recording this on Monday evening

the the tropical storm is supposed to just sit here for the next couple of days.

So there is going to be some flooding in Savannah.

Now I am on high ground in Savannah, which really just means about two feet above sea level, here in the low country.

And when I say the low country, what I'm doing is I'm pantomiming my thumbs hooked around my suspenders and my fingers waggling.

So I'm pretending to extend my suspenders and waggle my thumb, my fingers as I say the

low country, which is a great time for me probably not as fun for you

I have already been outside several times today because our back patio is laid with concrete, I want to say pavers, but they're actually not pavers.

What it is, it's a single slab of concrete that has been stamped to make it look like pavers.

It looks fine, but the problem is there's no place for water to go,

so there's a drain right in the middle of the patio that gets clogged because we have this big

big old crate myrtle tree

that just deposits crepe my guess.

I don't know what it's depositing.
