I am your host, your friend, your ear lover, and literary Mansplainer in chief Michael Ian Black in town just for the day

as I perform at the inaugural Columbus Comedy Festival and it is fitting to be a disaster.

I'm sure it's a very well-intentioned disaster but I got a an Instagram message from them promoting my show

and then there was a little I don't know what you call like a sticker aff affix to it, and it said in big letters, 30% sold out.

What? Who does that?

So I put it back on my Instagram with the caption 70% empty.

Apparently what happened is this these comedy folks are the people who organize

this comedy festival aren't comedians they run the local like alternative

newspaper or something so this is the first year they're doing it. So they don't have a lot of experience. So concurrent with my show on a Wednesday night in the small market of Columbus, Ohio, apparently there's several other shows happening at the same time.

Now, I don't know what kind of appetite for comedy Columbus Ohio has but I feel confident

that it cannot support three four five simultaneous shows running in the

middle of the week.

So, look, I'm gonna do my best.
