It is Election Eve here in the United States of America, 2024. After, oh, you know, I was going to say after a years-long campaign, but the fact is

the campaigning never stopped. So this is just the next stop on or layover. Let's call it a layover.

The next layover in the permanent campaign. There are permanent campaigns that exist between the

Democrats and the Republicans. We seem to never get a reprieve from it, and it is awful. That being said,

here on this presidential election Eve, I thought I would take a moment as we await the results

of this election to acknowledge what I think has been a truly amazing campaign by the Harris

people.

What was it, a hundred and something days ago, Biden drops out and she is tapped, essentially, to take his place.

You know, we can quibble about how that happened and whether it was quote unquote

democratic or not, I happen to think it was just fine.

I mean, he dropped out and then somebody had to run.

She was the only one who ran.

She got the nomination. So voila. Now, were there

a lot of backstage machinations to ensure that she was the only one who ran? Probably. But the

fact of the matter is it sorted itself out, the way it sorted itself out. She was nominated. She
