Black. It is the Christmas season, and my daughter, Ruthie, is home from college, and in fact,

has joined me here in the Jill Schwartz Memorial Library, Southern Annex, where I am recording this particular

episode.

We are on a reading throne, though it is not the Jack Jack Memorial Reading Throne, it is

a reading throne, and she is currently knitting a hat. Is this a, are you going to keep that hat?

Yes, she says she's going to keep the hat when it's done. And she will have a warm,

woolen hat to parade around campus in. And we are all very much looking forward to that.

I am back from Oklahoma.

I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

And I think that went fairly well.

And now I am returned, looking forward to ending the year of performances.

I've got Louisville, Kentucky, this coming weekend, and then a one-stop

gig in Chicago, and then I'm doing something I've never done before. And I can't say I'm

exactly looking forward to it, but it may end up being very fun. CNN has invited me and my co-captain Amber Ruffin out to, and Enroy Wood Jr., I think,

is also going to be there, out to Times Square on New Year's Eve, where we're going to be

paling around with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, probably for, oh, I don't know, no more than 10 minutes or so, you know,

as a way to plug the show and say when we're coming back on the air and all the rest of it.

Now, if you would ask me, excuse me, Michael, do you want to go to Times Square on New Year's Eve?

My answer would have been absolutely fucking not.
