This is obscure season four

an American tragedy.

I'm your host, your friend, your ear lover,

and literary mansplainer-in-chief, your ear lover, and literary mansplanner in chief, Michael

Ian Black, coming at you as freshly shorn as a spring lamb. I've just returned from the barber.

And I said, give me a skin fade. And he said, well, just so we're clear, you mean all the way down to the skin?

And I said, why not?

And he goes, and he goes, well, how high do you want to take it?

You want to take it high and tight?

And I said, well, we're here.

Go for it.

And so I look like a recruit fresh off the bus on Paris Island, South Carolina,

getting ready to start my marine basic training, although I think you and I both know I would

not survive an hour in that environment.

It is cold in Savannah, and so the briskness is affecting my scalp now.

I am, I am shorn, and I am cold, and I am ready to dive back into an American tragedy having taken the last couple of weeks

off for the holy days. Well, the holy days have come and gone. The new year has arrived.

And, you know, it's 2025, baby. What an exciting time to be alive.

Of course, excitement can mean a lot of different things to different people, and I will leave

it to you as to what that word means to you.
