So the first time that we take this podcast,

VAM, a lot had not happened yet.

You know, in a moment, you all are going to hear our season one recap of

the wire where we give out some awards, have a little fun.

And we wanted to make sure that before you guys heard that episode that we

talked about some of the series issues that have been going on in this country.

And strange enough, we bring it kind of all back to the wire.

So we didn't want to appear as if we were in tone deaf or ignoring everything

happening on the outside world.

But we also realized that this is more of an entertainment vehicle.

But given what the subject matter and what the subject matter is in the wire,

I think we would be remiss if we didn't address at least a lot of the social

unrest, social injustice, the murders of George Floyd and Ahmad Arbery and

Brianna Taylor addressed it in some way.

So you guys didn't think we were somehow living in a cave somewhere and had

no plans of acknowledging everything happening.

Although we do appreciate, because we took a little week off, we do appreciate

people who were tweeting us and saying, hey, where's the wire?

You know, telling us they rely on it for entertainment value.

And it was a good escape for them, which we certainly appreciate.

But neither Van or I are the type of people who are going to ignore something

as big and as massive as the movement taking place in this country.
