All eyes are on the White House, now five days before Election Day.

But some also have their eyes set on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue and the United States Senate,

where Democrats are fighting to hold their majority.

The person charged with holding that majority?

Senator Gary Peters of Michigan,

chairman of the Democratic Senator Senator Sanders of Michigan,

in this conversation first recorded for Washington Post Live on October 30th,

Senator Peters walks me through the tough terrain Democrats' face,

from Montana and Ohio to Texas and Florida. And he also talks about the

presidential campaign and whether Vice President Harris has learned the lessons from mistakes made

in his state in 2016. The Vice President's campaign is doing what they need to do. We're seeing

her here regularly. Kamala Harris has been able to drive a very powerful message

that people care deeply about in my state here.

Senator Manchin's seat in West Virginia is almost certain to go

Republican. So the next two seats on the brink are in Montana and Ohio.

So let's start with Montana and Senator John Tester.

The three-term incumbent has tried to distance himself from Washington.

He even didn't go to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. how are you helping, how are you helping

tester hold on to his seat? Does he even want the DSCC's help?
