The White House said on social media that Kilmar Abrago-Garcia is, quote, never coming back

to the U.S. The Maryland resident was wrongfully deported to El Salvador last month and was being

held in a notorious mega-prison, but has since been moved. While Abrago-Garcia had illegally been in the U.S. prior to his deportation, a 2019 court

order said he could not be sent to El Salvador.

In court documents, the Trump administration had admitted that it made a clerical error,

but recently denied the deportation was a mistake.

Trump officials alleged that he's a member of

the MS-13 gang, which his attorneys deny, and at least one federal judge voiced skepticism

toward. The White House post came after Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen met with

O'Rago Garcia last night and posted a picture. The senator's post sparked outrage from some on the right,

including the president.

He's a fake. I know them. I know them all. They're all fake. And they have no interest

in that prisoner. That prisoner's record is unbelievably bad.

Van Hollen addressed that in a news conference today.

This case is not just about one man.

It's about protecting the constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United

States of America.
