The sun shone on the still waters of Commons Pond on June 27, 2000.

That morning, Maggie Bish dropped off her daughter, 16-year-old Molly Bish, to her lifeguard station by the water in her hometown of Warren, Massachusetts. It was Molly's

eighth day on the job, her third day patrolling on her own. A strong swimmer with a passion for

helping others, Molly was looking forward to the summer she had ahead. Just after 10 a.m. that morning,

a mother arrived at Commons Pond for a swim lesson for her child.

But when she arrived, she immediately sensed that something was wrong.

Molly's lifeguard chair was empty. Her flip-flops lay in the sand. Her first aid kit was open.

The water was unusually calm, and Molly was nowhere to be seen.

Authorities arrived at the scene and began searching for any trace of Molly and the small community

hoped for good news in the case of her disappearance. Three years later, Molly's case would go

from missing person to murder. I'm Emily Campano, and this is the Fox True Crime podcast. During the fall of 2002, a hunter in Palmer, Massachusetts discovered a torn piece of fabric

that matched the bathing suit worn by Mali Bish on the day she vanished.

However, it wasn't until May of 2003 that police were notified of this breakthrough.

An extensive search was initiated in the wooded area of Palmer.

The investigation took a tragic turn on June 3, 2003, when remains were discovered that were later identified to be Molly's, just five miles from where she

disappeared.

It's now been 24 years since Molly's devastating disappearance.

Although several suspects have been named, her case remains unresolved to this day.
