Kiev, Ukraine's capital, was hit with a barrage of strikes from Russia just hours ago.

It's the deadliest wave of attacks in nine months, with at least eight people killed,

according to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's office.

While the Ukrainian Air Force said Moscow sent a total of 70 missiles

and 145 drones.

And it all comes as President Donald Trump called Zelenskyy, quote, the man with no cards

left to play on Truth Social last night.

The White House has been accused of trying to strong arm Ukraine into a peace deal. Here's CNN's Nick Robinson on why this deal is so difficult to accept.

It's the question of Crimea that Russia illegally annexed in 2014 and has doubled down and

connected by a land bridge in the latest invasion that began. And according to a US official familiar with the negotiations,

the US is ready to recognize Russian control of Crimea.

It seems that Ukraine is being expected to give up Crimea.

It is part of its territory, the Budapest memorandum back in 1980,

1994.

Trump has since responded to the strikes on Truth Social, saying he is, quote, not happy,

and also writing, Vladimir, stop.
