James Acaster here, comedian and music fan, and in 2017, I had a breakdown.

I dealt with that breakdown, but buying as much music in 2016 as I

possibly could. As a result, I now own over 700 albums that came out in 2016 and I'm convinced

it's the greatest year for music of all time. But it's not enough for me being convinced. I also want to

convince each and every single one of you, plus

a guest every week. I'm going to send them an album in advance. We're going to come on the podcast.

We're going to talk about that album. This week, my guest is Stuart Laws, and we're talking about

on the pedestrian side by Angela Sawyer.

Angela Sawyer is something of a cult figure in New England's underground scene.

She's been a musician for about 20 years now.

She also does stand-up comedy as well.

She's been selling vinyl records in the Boston area for about 25 odd years as well. So she's got quite a legacy in her hometown but outside of there

not many people have really heard of Angela Sawyer. There's very little about her on the

internet. This album on the pedestrian side but half the songs were recorded

live on her phone.

There's a lot of covers on this album as well, but of quite obscure artists who not everyone's heard of.

She introduces you to a lot of different people throughout the album.
