The show are two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite noobs. Choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Ashvin, and today we are discussing Susperia from 2018, directed by Luca Guadagnino, written by David Kajannick, based on the original script by Dario Argento and Dariah Nicolodi, starring Dakota

Johnson, Tilda Swinton, and Mia Gauth. In this remake of 1977 Susperia, American dance student

Susie Banyan arrives at a prestigious yet mysterious dance school in a divided Berlin in 1977.

If you're new to the show, we're going to discuss some background info on this movie for the first 15 or 20 minutes,

and we'll keep that spoiler free.

But after that, we'll play some transition music and go into spoiler mode where we walk through the plot in detail,

reviewing things as we go, and then we'll

summarize with the little review and give our 0 to 5 rating.

I feel like momentum for it has been building, so here we are covering it.

I had always been curious and still had never seen it. It's one of those things

where I like, oh, I'll watch that any day now, and seven years have gone by and I still haven't

watched it. Had you seen it? No, I hadn't. Same thing. I mean, it's what, like two and a half

hours? It isn't like a light or easy watch just to have on for fun. You really got to commit

here. Yeah, the two and a half hour runtime is not maybe intimidating or daunting is the wrong word,

but it can be discouraging.

If you're looking to make decisions and you want to go to bed by a certain time or you've

got a certain time window, that can eliminate a lot of movies from your watch list.

Yeah, I notice that more and more these days.
