And today we're delighted to be joined by Ash Sarkar.

Ash is a journalist, academic and political activist, known for her commentary on social justice, economic inequality and democratic socialism. Ash serves as a senior editor at Navarra Media. Her work has

been featured in The Guardian and Independent, amongst many other places, and she's a familiar face

on British television. Her debut book, Minority Rule, Adventures in the Cultural War,

examines how ruling elites exploit cultural divisions to maintain power.

Ash, we're going to start where we always do at the beginning and ask you, what are your

earliest memories of food? Probably my mum hiding the crisps from me because I was addicted to

the safeways, ready salted, just like the shop brand crisps and I couldn't get enough of

them. And so there was

a cupboard in the kitchen with a little gap between the top and the ceiling and so she would

hide them there because it was the spot that I couldn't reach so that's probably my first food memory
