Taking action as a spiritual practice. In this episode, Eckhart talks with an audience in Hawaii and explains

as awareness grows we added a mention of presence to everything we do. We may work the same job but we do it in a

different way because we become still and take our insights into action.

Eckhart says giving the fullest attention to our performance in the moment is critical, allowing whatever task

we perform to have purpose, whether it's creating a work of art or running a company.

He believes when we release excessive focus on the outcome, whatever action we take becomes part of our spiritual practice.

Some of you are returning home today, some are staying another day or two or three or

week or two or you decide to not go home at all.

And stay here in the eternal summer.

Some people have this vision when they think of what they want to achieve in life.

They want to live in Hawaii and spend the rest of their life sitting under a palm tree zipping a cocktail.

And then they've made it. I made it.

Worked hard for 45 years.

And finally I made it.

And now what? Finally, I made it.

And now what? Some of you are living in a northern hemisphere,

so you are moving back into winter.

There's a quote by a famous French writer Albert Camus, who said in one of his writings,

in the depths of winter I discovered deep within myself an invincible summer.

This court is not appreciated by people

who live in an internal summer anyway. not which means unpleasant circumstances, things not working well, whatever it may be, challenges, difficulties.
