Go with me, if you would, to Luke 11 and Matthew 6, Luke chapter 11, Matthew 6.

We've been on a series these last several weeks.

Anybody know what we're calling it?

Teach us to pray. Teach us to pray.

Teach us to pray.

And you want to make that personal, teach me.

Lord, teach me to pray.

In Luke 11 is where we get that phrase.

I'm reading in Luke 11 verse 1, Young's literal translation.

It says, it came to pass in his, that's Jesus being in a certain place praying.

As he ceased, a certain one of his disciples said to him, sir, teach us to pray, as also John taught his disciples. Teach us to pray. And he said to them, now if you read Matthew's account, he said a

lot more to them before he actually gave them what we call the Lord's pray.

But if you want to get the whole thing, you've got to read all the accounts.

Because Luke will emphasize something that Mark or Matthew didn't and vice versa.

So Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are not just duplicates.

There's different emphasis.
