Thank you. True Crime Podcast. Jan Broberg survived being abducted and raped over a period of weeks by a friend of the

family, not once, but twice. Robert Birchtold first kidnapped Jan

when she was 12 years old and brainwashed her into believing she was an alien who needed to

procreate with him in order to continue their alien race. If she didn't by the age of 16, she and her

family would be hurt and killed.

Despite being twice saved from Birch Told's long-term abductions,

Jan still believed his lies.

It wasn't until she approached her 16th birthday that she was freed from his manipulation.

The revelation sparked the beginning of Jan's healing journey and allowed her

to begin telling the truth of what had happened to her. But her story didn't end there. Although the

nightmare continued, it didn't stop Jan from speaking out. Through the Jan Broberg Foundation,

she works tirelessly to raise awareness about child sexual abuse,

change public policy, and build a community for survivors to heal.

for other survivors.
