I'm Gianna Jalosi with your Fox True Crime Minute. A man from New Jersey has been arrested in San

Diego accused of murdering his girlfriend and dumping her body in a state forest.

Human remains were found December 22nd in the Bella Plain State Forest in New Jersey.

The body was found in a refrigerator, wrapped in a sleeping bag, secured with blue ratchet straps, and covered with carpet.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Laura Hughes, but the cause of death hasn't been released.

Hughes' boyfriend, Christopher Blevins, was quickly on the radar of police. And when they searched his

apartment, police say they found blue straps and a gun. And then a license plate reader captured

his truck transporting a refrigerator-shaped object on two separate days over the summer before

Blevins fled to Mexico. Police say he turned himself into

police in Mexico City a few days later, saying he, quote, may have killed someone in a bar fight.

Blevins was arrested January 13th in San Diego and is now charged with first-degree murder. He's
