0:56.1	1997, and he was ordered to pay $33.5 million to the Goldman and Brown families. Despite the
1:04.3	seizures of hundreds of valuable assets, as well as the auctioning of his Heisman trophy, Simpson was
1:10.6	never able to complete the ordered payment.
1:13.6	And though Simpson walked free for a time, his legal controversies continued to follow him.
1:19.2	In 2007, Simpson led a group of five men into a Las Vegas hotel room,
1:24.3	where they robbed two sports memorabilia collectors at gunpoint. Simpson was convicted
1:29.7	of armed robbery, kidnapping, and other felony charges on October 3, 2008, exactly 13 years
1:37.2	after his acquittal of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Ultimately, the Brown
1:43.5	and Goldman families never saw their multimillion dollar wrongful
1:47.0	death judgment, but they did watch the man who plagued their grief spend nine years behind bars.
1:53.1	In 2007, after a lengthy legal battle, the Goldman family was awarded the rights to O.J. Simpson's
1:59.0	controversial book, If I Did It, and retitled it,
2:02.6	If I Did It, Confessions of a Killer. 90% of the book's proceeds go toward the Goldman family.
