I'm Emily Camponio, and this is the Crimes of OJ Simpson 30 years later.

Thank you. of O.J. Simpson 30 years later. It was the people of the state of California

versus Orenthall James Simpson,

the prosecution versus the dream team.

Twelve jurors sat in the Los Angeles County Superior Court,

intently watching as history unfolded before them.

The prosecution presented damaging evidence against Simpson,

including traces of DNA,

Simpson's blood present at the crime scene, and a pair of

shrunken black leather gloves. However, no piece of evidence was a match for Simpson's defense

team, and as Johnny Cochran so famously coined, if it doesn't fit, you must acquit. And acquit

the jury did. On October 3, 1995, after less than four hours of deliberation,

the jury reached its controversial verdict, finding O.J. Simpson, not guilty, of the murders of Nicole

Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Co-host of the five, Judge Janine Piro, joins now to look back at this historic trial and provide her expert legal analysis of the prosecution and defense.

Judge, you were a sitting district attorney at the time of the murders. When you first watched this case unfold, did you think it would be a slam dunk or did you anticipate the uphill battle that the prosecution would go on to have?

You know, when you look at this case as a prosecutor and you've got the motive, you've got the means, you've got the opportunity, the old-fashioned, you know, equation that we use.
