Summary

I've been a full time influencer since 2015, and I've been creating online content since 2008. That's 14 years of experience in this industry. This is many people's dream job, but there are downsides I've discovered over the years that you may not be fully aware of as a viewer. We all know that every job is going to come with some sort of negativity, but there are some very specific experiences that come with sharing your life online. Definitely some things to consider before deciding to become an influencer!

Hey guys, what's up? It's Raven. Fun facts. In high school, I had an unhealthy obsession

0:16.6

with the rapper known as Lil Wayne to the point where I even wrote letters to him when

0:20.5

he was in prison. On another note, today we're going to be talking about the downside of being

0:26.6

an influencer, the negative side of being a content creator, the cons that go with the pros

0:34.5

of being on social media full-time. If you did not know, I am a full-time content creator,

0:41.2

I am an influencer, whatever you want to call it, and I have been doing it full-time for about

0:46.6

eight years ever since about 2014, 2015 is when I really started doing it seriously full-time,

0:53.8

no other part-time job, no other nine to five, just doing influencing full-time since about 2014,

1:01.6

but even before that, leading all the way back to 2008, I was still creating content on social

1:08.6

media either as a hobby or as kind of a part-time gig. So all in all, I've been doing this since 2008,

1:15.0

but I've been doing it super seriously for the past eight years. And let me just start off by saying

1:20.1

that this is my dream job. I didn't know at first that it was my dream job. It's not like when I was

1:25.6

five years old, I was saying, I want to be an influencer because when I was five years old,

1:29.8

there was no such thing as an influencer. I am kind of one of the OGs in the sense that as I became an

1:37.3

influencer, influencing was just barely becoming a thing in and of itself. So it wasn't something that

1:43.8

I always aspired to be just for that reason, but once I realized that it was a possibility,

1:49.8

once I kind of was already in it, I realized that it was my dream job. It was just a really awesome

1:55.2

opportunity. It was a perfect combination of all the things that I was passionate about, the things

2:00.7

that I like to do, the things that I was good at, and it was just really cool to me that I could make

2:05.8

my living doing social media. So just want to start off by saying that there are a lot of pros to

2:13.8

being an influencer, some of which are very obvious, some of which you guys can easily see just by

2:19.2

looking at me and I feel like I talk about them a lot and I try to explain how grateful I am and
