James Lutrell is the kind of prosecutor who knows how to step back and let his witnesses deliver powerful testimony.

We saw him do that again and again in the Delphi murders trial.

Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLean successfully tried and convicted Richard Allen

of the murders of Liberty German and Abigail Williams,

but as he will be the first to say, he did not do it alone.

He worked with a terrific team of two other attorneys,

each of whom once served as an elected prosecutor in another Indiana County.

We will be speaking with all of them this week.

James Lettrell worked in the Grant County Indiana Prosecutor's Office for decades.

In the first few months of his first term as elected prosecutor there, five people were murdered.

As his final term was ending, Luttrell successfully

wrapped up the last of those cases. After leaving the prosecutor's office, Mr. Luttle served as

Deputy General Counsel of the Indiana Department of Child Services. He also worked with Grace,

an organization which works to prevent abuse of children in religious

environments. And then he retired. Six months later, he got a call from Nicholas McLean, asking if Mr.

Luttrell would be interested in working on the Richard Allen case. Mr. Luttle was kind enough to
