Stewardship, then, is not just a focus on money or material things, but also encompasses every spiritual blessing. In this study, making the most of all God

has given, Scott Pauley teaches biblical principles for Christian stewardship. One day, we will meet God

and give an account of how we have handled all of the resources he has put in our hands. Let's listen intently to learn how God expects us to steward his resources.

What does it mean to you to be a part of a fellowship of believers?

It ought to mean something.

You know, in our world today, so many people

have diminished the local New Testament church and have the idea, well, I can be spiritual and I can be

a Christian and I can love God and not be a part of a local church. Well, certainly it's not the church

that makes you a Christian, but if you're a Christian, you'll love the church, and you'll love the church because Christ loved the church and gave

himself for it. Today, we are coming to the first ship of stewardship. Remember, I said there were

three ships. There's fellowship, worship, and discipleship. We begin with fellowship because that's where Paul begins in

2 Corinthians chapter 8 and verse number one. He begins with a discussion about the church. And I think

this is of note because fellowship reminds us we are part of something bigger than ourselves. Do you know

what good stewardship does? It keeps you from

being selfish. It prevents you from living self-centered. It reminds you that you are connected

first to Christ and then to his people. And the Christian life is relational. In fact, even a good study of the revelation of Jesus

Christ, the new heavens, the new earth, and the new Jerusalem, it's fascinating to me to see the

social aspect of that, that we will have relationships with God, with one another, we're going to

be together, we're going to be with him.

That's always been the heart of God for his people.

And any good discussion of good stewardship has to acknowledge that it is not just about you,
