Stewardship, then, is not just a focus on money or material things, but also encompasses every spiritual blessing. In this study, making the most of all God

has given, Scott Pauley teaches biblical principles for Christian stewardship. One day, we will meet God

and give an account of how we have handled all of the resources he has put in our hands. Let's listen intently to learn how

God expects us to steward his resources. The little rhyme we learned as a child said that in

1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

You know the story, of course, of Christopher Columbus,

his explorations and his discovery of the new world.

But do you remember that Columbus had three ships,

the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria

that carried his team of explorers.

Many years later, in 1606, 1607, America's first colonist set out from London to

Jamestown on three ships, the Susan Constant, the Godspeed, and the discovery.

If you study in history very frequently, there were three ships that would

sail together. I think a lot of that had to do with protection and the fleet sailing together,

helping one another along the journey. Well, for the next few days, I want to make a little journey

with you, a voyage, if I may, in 2 Corinthians chapter 8.

And I want to look at the three ships of stewardship.

Now, let me tell you before we read the text today and launch into the study what they are

so that you can get them fixed in your mind.
