On February 19th, 2008, Karen Matthews dialed 999 to report her nine-year-old daughter Shannon

missing. She hadn't seen her since she left for school that morning. The police

immediately began looking for the missing girl. Miraculously she was

found 24 days after she had

disappeared. She was hidden in an apartment just one mile from her own home. The

truth of who was behind the nine-year-old's kidnapping is truly stranger than

fiction.
