Have you ever made a completely mundane mistake that just keeps coming back to annoy you?

Maybe it even haunts you?

Maybe you accidentally dripped bleach on your favorite sweatshirt or maybe you had to

throw out a whole package of green beans because you left them moldering at the bottom

of the vegetable drawer.

Yes, I have done that.

Or maybe.

Maybe you keep being reminded of that library book that you misplaced and never return.

Meaning you can't go back to the library until you find it.

Walk back and hanging your head in shame and pay your fine.

Well, today's story is about that exact thing and it deals with some of the hugely unexpected

repercussions of not returning a library book.

Now, that's really all I can say without spoiling it.

The story is from the recent anthology from Tor.com entitled Africa Risen, a new era of speculative

fiction and it's newly available in audio format from recorded books.

The author is Toby Ogan-Diren, who is a writer of your Robin extraction.

Toby has been nominated for the British Science Fiction Association, Shirley Jackson,

the Ignite and Nomo Awards and his stories have appeared everywhere from light speed to
