James 517 tells us that Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are.

He lived and served God under a wicked king, and yet, in spite of the wickedness around him,

he was a man who not only walked with

God he had the power of God on his life in this study a man like us in times like

As a boy, we used to sing, he's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.

Well, the good news is, all these years later, as a much older man, I can say, he is still

working on me, and he is working for me, and he is working with me, and he is working around me.

Yes, the Lord is at work. In our last study, we established from 1st King 17, verse number one,

that God's alive.

He is the Lord God of Israel that liveth.

But he is not only alive, he is at work.

I think sometimes even those of us who theologically say, oh, I believe there is a God,

and I believe God is very much alive, and God can do anything.

We almost look at our circumstances and what's going on and get the

idea that maybe the Lord is disinterested. Maybe because you haven't seen your answer to prayer or seen

the breakthrough or understand the situation, you think the Lord no longer cares and that he's disconnected

from your life and what's going on.

Well, I want to remind you today that the Lord is at work.

He has not abdicated his throne and he's not about to start today.

He still holds the scepter in the palm of his hand and praise be to God.
