Chris Regan had been living in Iron Mountain, Michigan, which is in the Upper Peninsula.

He had recently decided with his son, Chris Regan Jr., to get out of the cold state and move

somewhere else, get a fresh start. They had taken a trip to Asheville, North Carolina a few

years prior and had a blast camping, hiking, and cycling.

They officially started planning the move, which meant that Chris had to break up with his girlfriend,

Terry O'Donnell.

Chris eventually lined up a job in Asheville and all he had to do was go into a lab for a drug test.

As long as he passed, which everyone who knew him said he would, the job was his.

But that drug test never happened. He was scheduled for October 15th, 2014, but he never arrived.

He and Terry were still friendly after the breakup, and the last time she had heard from him was on the 14th. His son, Chris Jr., texted

him every day. Heck, they were planning a 1,000 mile or 1,600 kilometer moved together and were in

constant contact about it. He too had stopped hearing from his father on the 14th. There was no

communication on the 15th, and he didn't arrive at work on the 16th.

Despite being described as a sharp and responsible guy with plans for the future, Chris Regan had just vanished.
