there's meant to be something about us, whoever we're interacting with,

that people feel dignified by how we've handled them.

So even if they're being mean to us,

that doesn't mean you get to be mean.

We're told the opposite in Romans 12.

Don't avenge yourselves.

Bless those who curse you.

Because we want people to feel respected and dignified,

even if we're contradicting what they're saying,

the way we're saying it should be honoring to that person.
