When we left off last episode, Tony had just been arrested outside the

key bank in Seattle's U-Village. His incredible spree was finally over. 30

banks in a single year. As Tony came down from his final high, cops cuffed him,

drove him down to Seattle PD headquarters and booked him into the system. Then two

officers took Tony into a small windalous room with a table and three chairs.

Tony waited there alone with his head resting on the table until two detectives

arrived. Carver is the detective you heard in the first episode. He was leading the

task force that had been trying to catch a serial bank robber for more than a year.

Melis, who works for the King County Sheriff's Department, was also on that

task force.

Anthony, where are you staying right now? When you body else live there, do you have

youngins or why for anything like that? No, I'm divorced. I have two kids

with them. Okay. Do they call you Anthony or do they call you Tony? They call me Tony.

Can I call you Tony? You can call me Lynn. Tony, you have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say can be used against your own court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer

and to have him present with you. This tape you're hearing, it's the beginning of a six-hour

interrogation that took place the night after Tony's arrest. Six hours of questioning in

which no attorney was ever present. But that's the story for a different episode.
