| 0:42.7 | that you had to have innate talent, that you had to be really smart, none of which I was, right? |
| 0:48.5 | That you had to have the right connections. You had to go to the right university. And I thought |
| 0:52.8 | because I didn't have any of those things that my success was going to be limited. |
| 0:56.5 | But what I realize now, and what I wish I realized even younger, |
| 1:00.3 | is that none of that matters. |
| 1:03.0 | So that just with hard work, with consistency, |
| 1:07.9 | with seeking out advisors and mentors and the right materials, you can get any |
| 1:13.9 | advantage that you want in any industry. And that has been the boon of my career. The second |
| 1:21.1 | thing on that is to invest in personal development even more aggressively than I did. Luckily, I did meet a mentor |
| 1:30.0 | when I was 18 years old who advised that I take 10% of every dollar I make from that point |
| 1:35.7 | forward and reinvested in my personal development. And he asked me what my goal was for the next |
| 1:40.1 | year. And I was 18 years old and I said, want to make a over $100,000 a year just thinking |
| 1:44.2 | that was crazy right 18 year old making $100,000 a year and he says well then you better go invest |
| 1:49.7 | $10,000 in your personal development. He says you don't achieve goals you grow into them and so I did |
| 1:56.3 | even though I didn't even have the $10,000 to start with I went went and found it, scrapped and scrimped and put it together. |
