0:29.2	mystic Thomas Merton to help us deepen our experience of and response to God's presence in our lives.
0:38.0	In this session we're coming to the end of this initial series here on Thomas Merton
0:46.8	the session following this one being a kind of not a summary
0:50.8	but attempt to kind of get in overview of this, like the spiritual worldview of
0:55.6	contemplative of Christianity and following the path of learning to live in fidelity to it.
1:02.8	And I believe too there'd be an opportunity for you to ask questions
1:06.7	over the site here and Kirsten will come and interview me based on the questions that you might have on this
1:17.2	initial series here on Thomas Merton.
1:21.4	And so I've decided in this session is our text to choose a passage in which is chapter 6 and
1:30.1	Thomas Merton's book The Inner Experience. It's a significant book and that is the book
1:36.5	that he was still in the midst of during the final edits of when he died in Asia.
1:42.4	He wrote the Asian Journal on the trip to Asia where he met the Dalai Lama and
1:46.3	so on.
1:47.3	But this was back in his hermitage at Gethsema.
1:51.0	He was writing this as kind of the mystical lineage of the Christian tradition and in
1:56.8	chapter six of the inter-experience on infused contemplation or I say mystical contemplation.
