Hello, my friend. I am really enjoying reading right now Stephen King's book on writing,

a memoir of the craft. Now, this book actually isn't in print anymore. I don't know why not.

Why would this not be in print? Right. Stephen King is one of the greatest fiction writers of all time.

He's hit records with his book sales. And I absolutely love so far what I've read about his life.

I'm about the third of the way through. But what he says about writing is that life isn't a

support system for art. It's the other way around. And I've always agreed with that. We understand life because of art. That's why if you're a

podcast, if you're a writer, if you're someone who shares stories, we need you. The world doesn't

make sense without art. It can't just all be about high rises and lawyers and attorneys and numbers and science.

It's about feeling and understanding and human connection. And there was this one little snippet in the

book that I was actually just reading last night. And I thought, oh, isn't this true? Isn't this true? Now, whether or not you're a creative,

whatever it is that you want to do to be, do, or have, or achieve in your life, I do know the

magic and power of, if you're lucky, having someone in your life who believes in you.

Now, nothing can replace self-belief. Self-belief is the foundation of everybody else's

belief. The universe is belief. We don't need, so to speak, anybody else in order to fulfill

our vision, right? By staying true to ourselves, by putting one

foot in front of the other and taking inspired action, we will encounter many, many, many people.

But there is magic in having a constant source in your life, if you're lucky, and if it's something that you can nurture,

having even just one steady person who believes in you. So Stephen speaks about writing,

how it would get paid a few hundred dollars here or there, writing for magazines when he was

young and getting started. And like many people, right, like many,
