I have been making the comic books.

And when I say making the comic books, I mean writing the comics, drawing the comics, inking the comics, publishing the comics, selling the comic books for 40 years, just shy of four complete decades.

I've been collecting the comics, consuming the comics for 50 years. We talk comic books, comic books and pop culture here on Robservations. I have done my very best over these many years to detail how comic books evolved into this giant behemoth that we all now experience. We're experiencing it. These last few weekends as Deadpool and Wolverine

Storm the Cinemas. And the headline that I read right before, jumping on the microphone here,

is that it's guaranteed to hit a billion dollars here in its third weekend of release, which I think

at some point is just shocking to so many people. It's interesting. There was

so much trepidation about the movie because it had an R rating, an R-rated movie, an R-rated movie. It's

not going to be able to do PG-13 business. Yes, it is, that they always have. It's so weird.

There is a segment, let's let's be honest, that dismisses the

Deadpool films. For whatever reason, they never took the box office of these Deadpool films

as seriously as I felt like they should because there were so many lessons to be learned from them,

many of which I've talked about here,

the R-rated mature theme, the maturation of the audience, the audience wanting to have more than

just the safe PG-13 stuff that they grew up on when they were 8 and 10 and 12 and 13,
