Before I jump in tonight's talk on stuff and possessions and accumulation would just like to note that everything I do is entirely

And tonight we're going to be talking about

the wording and accumulation

tendency in us human beings and there's no place better to start than to note that the

Buddhist quest for Enlightenment began with relinquishing his life of opulence where he went into in his teachings

and where he talked about his early life he noted a life of splendor surrounded by refinery and all kinds of possessions and he noted

that these possessions got in the way of seeing the truth of existence and it

was necessary for him to essentially relinquish so much of what he owned to start a spiritual

quest that would ultimately result in his awakening.

So why is that?

Why is it that possessions can get in the way of our seeing the truth of existence and are moving forward in a really

meaningful life with purpose and a sense of clarity. So we'll be covering that tonight. I guess there is, it might as

well be noted that we seem to be on an increasingly relentless pursuit of accumulation, especially our country,

seven to eight million Americans meet the criteria for hoarding disorder, which is living in a apartment or house with spaces that are unusable due to clutter or clutter resulting in our withdrawing from friendships and family.
