The Senate confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services. Despite

being the son of Robert F. Kennedy, the nephew of President Kennedy, as well as the nephew of Lion of the Senate, Teddy Kennedy.

Despite all that, every single Democrat voted against Robert Kennedy.

The final count coming in at 52 to 48 entirely along party lines, except for Mitch McConnell, a polio victim as a child.

Mitch McConnell was the sole Republican voting against Bobby Kennedy.

McConnell, in his dotage, is not giving Trump a rubber stamp.

Of course not.

Now it doesn't matter.

He's not in charge of the Republican Party.

McConnell also voted against Pete Hexeth for Secretary of Defense.

We could have used your conscience last year when you were the minority leader of the Senate

and back when you were the majority leader of the Senate and you blocked Merrick Garland

from becoming Antonin Scalia's replacement on the Supreme Court.

But in casting his vote against Kennedy,

Mitch McConnell said, quote,

individuals, parents and families have a right to push for a healthier nation

and demand the best possible scientific guidance

on preventing and treating illness.

But a record of trafficking and dangerous conspiracy theories and eroding trust in public health

institutions does not entitle Mr. Kennedy to lead these important efforts.
